RLC MOTHER’S DAY OUT | ASSISTANT TEACHER

Job Location: Renew Life Church, Midland, Texas

Reports To: RLC MDO Director, RLC Executive Pastor

Position Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly

Schedule: Monday & Wednesdays, 8 am-2:30 pm, office hours as required


Goal of Position: 

The goal of this position is to support the classroom in a way that reflects the heart of God—offering consistent care, structure, and grace. This position requires a servant-hearted attitude, working in unity with the Lead Teacher by following classroom expectations, reinforcing discipline with love and gentleness, and communicating openly. The Assistant Teacher helps ensure that each child feels valued, safe, and ready to grow spiritually, emotionally, and developmentally.

Activity-Based Job Description:

Daily - Program Days

  • Manage students during drop-off and pick-up times, away from the door. 

  • Monitor activities/student needs. 

  • Be prepared daily for the lesson, chapel, etc.  

  • Support and submit to the expectations of the Lead teacher. 

  • Support the discipline agreements of the Lead teacher. 

  • Enforce directives made by the teacher quietly, without disturbing students’ attention to the teacher. 

  • Participate in student lessons/circle time. 

  • Actively engage in daily activities and routines with children. 

  • Share responsibilities with diaper changing, clean up, etc.  

  • Assist in maintaining a clean environment in the classroom.

Weekly

  • Help in maintaining a yearbook for each child. 

  • Stay in open communication about classroom expectations with the  Lead teacher.  

  • Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children at all times.

Annually

  • Assist in assessing all areas of development of children.  

  • Help in maintaining a yearbook for each child.
